Functions

  • Form phytic acid

    Inositol is a precursor substance of phytic acid. Inositol undergoes multiple phosphorylation reactions to form phytic acid (inositol hexaphosphate). During seed germination, phytic acid is broken down by phytase and releases phosphorus, mineral nutrients, and inositol for cotyledon development and seedling growth.

  • Improves the antioxidant system

    External application of inositol can alleviate the decline in photosynthetic capacity and chlorophyll content of plant leaves under saline alkali conditions, improve the antioxidant system, reduce ROS accumulation, alleviate oxidative damage caused by salt stress, and also reduce Na+accumulation and promote the accumulation of soluble sugar alcohols, maintaining ion and osmotic balance in the plant.

  • Enhance drought resistance and cold resistance

    Enhance drought and cold resistance.
